GroupFC recently got a Canon A70, and he is delighted with it. Perhaps he will see this posting and respond.

I bought a S304 - absolutely brilliant - can't really say much more than that... Easy to use, lasts ages (200 pic + inc flash) on a good set of 4 AA NiMH Rechargeable (1700 mAh), lightweight, simple.... click here - £276.19

Buy a bigger xD Card though (128mb ~£40) and consider the case (£20)

The Fuji S304 is one of the better cameras as it has 6 x optical zoom. I have the earlier 2800 zoom which is superb in picture quality. Well recommended.

Would endorse everything said about the S304 so far. I'm a total photographic numpty but I've taken some really terrific shots with mine. Very simple and intuitive to use, yet feels like a 'real' camera. Good download speeds to PC too. Been very economical on batteries so far but I'd agree with Jester2K II, get a good size (128MB+) XD card.

At Sevendayshop XD cards cost £39.99 for a 128Mb, and £79.95 for a 256Mb. Post and packing is just 95p. I use this supplier regularly and find them good.

They also have good prices for high-power NiMh rechargeable AA batteries.
