The differences between Dell Ultrasharp monitors

I was looking at the differences between the Dell Ultrasharp Digital flat panel monitors. The 17 inch and 19 inch monitors have a contrast ratio of 500:1 and a response time of 25ms. The 18 inch monitor has a contrast ratio of 350:1 and a response time of 30ms. I suppose this would suggest that the 17 and 19 inch monitors are of a better quality due to a greater contrast ratio and a faster response time.

However, how much of a difference is it in quality? - I have my eye on the Dell Dimension 8300 (D53-REV) which offers the 18 inch Ultrasharp digital flat panel as standard. I plan to play games and DVDs on it. Is it worth upgrading to the 19 inch monitor? - do you think the effects of a lower contrast ratio and a longer response time will really be noticeable on the 18 inch monitor?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thank you.
