The difference in memory cards. So many variations

  lisa02 15:37 15 May 2007

Who would have thought that Micro SD is the same as Transflash but not the same as Mini SD?

Why are there so many variations?

I'm disgruntled as I just bought a 1gb Mini SD on ebay and it is of no use to me. :(

So you have to buy a new one for different products.
The companies that make them earn more ££££££!

I suppose.

Hi Lisa,

How about an adapter? Haven't used one but presume they give you a micro sd. Sorry it will mean buying another mini SD card though.

I got the adapter for my Micro SD with the card?

  lisa02 16:31 15 May 2007

Roy it is Micro SD that I need. Not mini SD which are physically bigger so cannot be adapted to Micro size.

If I chop it up with a knife would that work?

I'll give this away if someone can make use of it, it's sealed and unopened.

Let me guess, its for a phone perhaps?

I bought one a few months ago not realising that Mini SD and Micro SD were different. And of course it didn't fit, gave it to a mate.

My fault as I ordered the wrong thing.

Try carphonewarehouse were they are doing good deals at the moment on Micro SD.

Hi Lisa,

Confused!! Yes, sorry. I was also confused with the names. It is a pity that the ads don't quote a physical size as well.

The Brigadier
Yes that is what I meant , however, I was looking at the wrong sizes.
