Good evening,
Wise and gentle folk,

Does anyone have any experience,
re: products purchased thro "dell outlet"
prices appear to be genuinely 20 percent cheaper than list, along with appropriate guarantee`s....... allegedly.

I assume, I would be buying someone else returned basket case, and would appreciate your views on the risks of shopping this way.

I am looking to spend about a £1000 and the choice
appears extensive, and needless to say temting....but.. mmmmmmm.. er.. ooh, so what do you think?

For a £1000 you can hace a fairly wide selection of good spec pcs new. Why buy returned products? Dell machines are not really good value. £ for £ you get better specs from other suppliers.

I've bought 2 PCs from Dell's outlet store. Both were bargains, and you would never know they were not brand new.

I should state that they were bought on behalf of friends who asked for my recommendations.

I follow jazzypop. I bought an Inspiron for a friend through the outlet site. Admittedly the keyboard was duff - they replaced this within one week and PC is now running very very well. Loads of spec and cost about 30/40% less than quoted. Well worth it. The fact that the stuff is returns is a mental issue more than a physical one. Its your call. I'd buy again. Paul

Also, they aren't just PCs that went badly wrong, if someone makes a "cooling off" period return, Dell bung that PC into the outlet, because they can't sell it as new anymore, and its cheaper than getting somebody in the factory to disassemble and re-catologue all the components, and test each component individually etc.

if you have £1000 to spend, you could do worse than getting one of these, plus a 19" monitor.
