another computer chair gone duff they seem to last little more than 18 months, usual problem gas struts fail [i am 17 st]

instead of spending £100 on chairs that fail thinking about the aeron hermon mesh chair but they are very pricy at the moment. i am up at queens sq next week for a hosp appoint, i can remember years ago someone recommending a office chair shop near oxford st or portman sq but cannot find the link, might pay it a visit as i am in central london.

anyone know this place.

just been to john lewis in kingston, had a poor selection no boss chairs, the taylor was far too small for a man, had 3 different herman chairs some comfy some not but high prices.

I bought a Gas adjust Breakfast Bar Chair, Problem I had with it was it suddenly would not stay down. After some fiddling with it is staying down where I want it, I think I payed about £29. But as above the cheap chairs do not last long, either welds go on the cross bit at the bottom or Gas strut starts leaking

seen a herman miller aeron but the best prices almost £600 but al least it has a ten year warranty. last three chairs lasted less than 18mths two the gas thing went, 3rd the chair stem kept falling through the castor star frame.

still looking but the heron aeron size C is very comfy just the price giving me a touch of the seconds. looking at the chair tomorrow.

The Plastic is covering Metal inside, that's what Brock on my chair its a metal box section inside the plastic, i removed the plastic then re-welded the chair then refitted the plastic, last of all the castor is refitted

solved, got a good deal and bought the herman aeron-C. After spending an hour in specialist back shop with the assistant adjusting it to perfection for me i was smitten and bought it and made a large saving on it compared to the john lewis price.

hey there is no where to tick solved anymore

I have used a kneeling chair for some years. I bought my second one a year ago and this time spend a bit more to buy an all wooden one which was personalised to my height. Would thoroughly recommend the company. http://www.sitkneelchairs.co.uk/

When the strut failed on mine I used a couple of hose/jubilee clips to keep it in place.

tried clips in the past, could not get anywhere with them, i now have the aeron chair and very pleased.
