I purchased the latest Canon printer ,Pixma MP550
Unlike my previous Epson the colours produced on photographs did not match the screen.I emailed Canon and they replied promptly and asked a lot of questions which I answered but they have not come back to me since.
Not enamoured with their after sales service

Essentially- because the screen is illuminated[called additive] and the printed images is reflective[called subtractive] you have to make a screen image much brighter to appear acceptable in print.
How much brighter?
Trial and error I am afraid and the usde of a good image editor.
Much dependent of the colour of the paper and the characteristics of the printer and ink formulation
