, is it a ripoff or just morally wrong

BT are doing a promotion where you click on a advent calendar and the product of the day gets 30% taken off it, but what they are doing is putting the price of that item up that day and then taking the 30% off, so in effect you are not getting the 30% discount from the price of the previous day. For example they have been selling the Relysis 17" LCD TV for £349, that is until yesterday just after 9am the price went up to £399.00 less %30 discount, by all accounts they seem to be doing this with all these advent items.

I thought items had to be on sale at a certain price for 28 days before you could claims a "sale saving"

I am not sure if it refers to the net, but a sale item has to have been offered at the reference price for 30 days in the previous 4 months(the length's of time are approximations), at a branch of the business in this country.

After all, you are able to compare the price at the click of a mouse and no one forces you to buy at any price they may offer.

As to morals!

If you are concerned as to the actual offer, then consult with the trading standards. They will inform you as to their considerations, and if anything is wrong they will soon get it corrected.
