For BT Home BB Hub Users

  rawprawn 18:50 29 Apr 2009

I am Option 3 and have just received a letter offering me a reduced price of £22.50 per month unlimited 8 MB Max if I contract for another 12 months.
I rang and they have also agreed to replace my home hub for one of the new black ones at no charge.
I thought this may be worth a mention if anyone has the same offer and wants to upgrade their hub.

Is line rental included (£11.25), or is that extra, rawprawn?

  Zeppelyn 19:41 29 Apr 2009

The line rental is extra, they phoned me to and got it for £19.99, I didnt commit on their first call.

Well done Zeppelyn, I might go back to them on that although I think a new hub is about £44 for the upgrade.

hell!!! that's expensive.

. . . Option 1 BB, Option 3 Calls, 11.25/month line rental (DD) with first three months at half price, that adds up to £567 over 18 months. Another hellishly expensive "deal" from BT.

I've just moved to TT and the equivalent would be c.£330 (+ £30 setup/connection)

That does seem expensive. I get up to 20mb unlimted/uncapped download with O2 for less than a tenner per month. I get around the 12mb mark

just finished my contract with bt after 18 months thought it wud be of interest to sum to no that u still have to pay £18 to stop ya broadband even though u have fulfilled ya contract with no problems ???? u have to actually pay them to finish using their services ............ i have canceled my phone now ... so now they get nowt off me.

I think the £18 (now £20 or £25) is an added penalty for ending the contract early. It doesn't apply otherwise.
They also list excuses which they say are valid.
death or incapacity is an obvious one.

BT warn a subscriber as the old contract ends, I think it is 30 days notice from their warning.
Unless this is tackled, BT start a new contract from the end of the existing one.
Inertia selling at heart, but they do warn the unwary!
