BT gives 2MB Broadband upgrade for FREE.

As a BT Broadband subscriber, I've received a letter from BT informing me that I'm to be upgraded to their superfast 2MB service at no extra cost. A 15GB monthly limit will apply, but extra usage can be purchsed after 1st May. The line is due to be upgraded by 15 March. Is there a catch?. Has anyone else had this upgrade offer?

I have already had mine upgraded last week. There is no catch and no need to be suspicious. Enjoy.

If you don't need the extra speed perhaps you could downgrade and save some money each month (this seems to be my wife's plan!)

The upgrading is a result of BT price cuts and speeds upgrading, allowing ISPs to upgrade subscribers' broadband speeds and/or cut prices if they wish to remain at their present level.

There are several posts on the subject in the forums .
