Best VFM External HD

I'm thinking about an external HD about 200-300GB to be used for backup. Anyone have any recommendations? Not looking to spend too much, so value for money important.

I recently purchased an external USB2 hard drive case complete with power supply and leads etc for about £13.00 (this particular one came from Hong Kong £2.99 and £10.00 shipping through e-bay, but loads of others at similar price)
You can pick up an internal drive 200gb from about £62.00 mount it in the case and you then have 200gb external drive for about £75.00.
It took about 5 minutes to fit to drive to enclosure, it has its own separate power supply and works fine.

Thanks stalion & Diodorus Siculus,

I'll take a closer look at these later. I did initially think about a Western Digital (I already have their 250GB internal) but after Googling found a few mentions of unreliability :-(

Thanks Roadgiant,

Buying a caddy and fitting my own HD was something I have considered. I may yet take that option.

This LaCie 300728EK 250GB 7200rpm External USB 2.0 Hard Drive Design by F.A Porsche click here is about the best offer I have seen - gets good reviews - I am thinking about one for backup purposes.

Thanks georgemac ©,

That does seem like a bargain. I'll have a good read of the reviews later.
