I've been using (512Kbps) BB now since April with Tiscali and have been keeping track of my speeds at various times of the day (morning, afternoon, evening) using click here .I'm averaging 478Kbps downstream and 243Kbps upstream, which I'm pretty happy with.I'm about 1 mile from my local BT exchange. What speeds are others achieving?
wanadoo 512kDownstream 462 Kbps (57.8 KB/sec) 498 Kbps (inc. overheads)Upstream 243 Kbps (30.4 KB/sec) 262 Kbps (inc. overheads)always seems OK to me - first time I've checked the speed
Well here is mine on a 1Mb connection...Downstream 953 Kbps (119.1 KB/sec) 1029 Kbps (inc. overheads) Upstream 238 Kbps (29.8 KB/sec) 257 Kbps (inc. overheads)
I'm on NTL 600 service and got the following results:Downstream ..... 761KbpsUpstream ....... 126 KbpsNot bad at all.
I'm on NTL 1.5mb and got:Downstream 1441 Kbps (180.1 KB/sec) 1556 Kbps (inc. overheads) Upstream 242 Kbps (30.3 KB/sec) 261 Kbps (inc. overheads) I've found it to be very relaiable and stable, never seem to see any dips in speed.
RADSL AOL 512k connection, five and half miles from exchange (wired length not crow flies)Downstream 446 Kbps (55.8 KB/sec) 481 Kbps (inc. overheads) Upstream 238 Kbps (29.8 KB/sec) 257 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Blueyonder 3megDownstream....2860kbs,Upstream....239kbsI've found Blueyonder to be pretty consistent in speeds whatever the time of day as well.
Downstream 447 Kbps (55.9 KB/sec) 482 Kbps (inc. overheads) Upstream 244 Kbps (30.5 KB/sec) 263 Kbps (inc. overheads)
with BT BBdownstream 1152 KBPSupstream 288 KBPS
707114Why is the upstream fig not in proportion to the download. Those with 3meg conection have a speed close to some with 512k.
Since upgrading to 1 Meg, I now get exactly twice downstream what I was getting from my half meg connection. Downstream 956 Kbps (119.5 KB/sec) 1032 Kbps (inc. overheads) Upstream 254 Kbps (31.8 KB/sec) 274 Kbps (inc. overheads) The highest I have seen someone get is 480 Down so yours is very respectable at 478.
