B T Broadband for all

Will the recent announcement by BT click here make any difference to those currently on the limits of distance from the local exchange who are at present limited to 512 kbs service but would like 1 or 2 mbs broadband?

that it depends on your line quality.

When you request an upgrade from the 512 service to the 1Mb service BT will perform a fresh line test to see if your line quality is suitable. I've just had a client in London refused a broadband service because her line quality wasn't good enough - she lives 200 yards from the exchange.
