What is the best Antivirus/Internet Security software?

When I bought the new Norton Internet Security 2006 for my computer it totally messed it up.

Anti-virus AVG click here or Avast click here (Use only one).

Firewall ZoneAlarm click here

All are free with regular updates, and all well recommended.

There are many well recommended Adware,Trojan, Malaware removal programmes. If you want these, most are free, then just ask.

What about McAfee? Is that any good?

You have to pay for MacAfee and tyhere is no reason for a home user to pay for any AV or antispyware. Take spud's advice and chuck in Windows defender and Ccleaner from click here. You will have more than enough protection. There is no point mulling over the pros and cons of various AVs and spyware protectors, they are all aas goos as one another.

I quit using Zonealarm ages ago. Kerio (free version) is superior to Zonealarm in many respects, not least the lack of "warnings" in the log files about "attacks" plus the advanced learning mode. Very network friendly too.

The new free version of Agnitum Outpost is also well worth trying.

I too originally forked out £50 for Norton Internet Security 2005.

When push came to shove it wouldn't run in safe mode to get rid of a virus I had.

AVG did the job instantly. Since then it's been AVG + Zonealarm + numerous free antispyware.

No problem since !
