Adobe Flash Player Installer !!!!

  freaky 21:44 18 Sep 2008

My ISP is Virgin Media and I use their homepage for viewing the news. Had no problems until a few days ago....was reading the news and a Elastoplast pop-up appeared partly obscuring what I was reading. It would not go so I right clicked on it and there was a mention of Adobe. The same problem occurred the following day and so on, so I emailed Virgin.

The following day I did a search on my PC for Adobe and found Adobe Flash Player installed....I uninstalled the program and the Elastoplast pop-up had gone !!

Today I received a reply from Virgin stating there were no pop-ups on their Homepage, and I probably had a Spyware problem. This evening I was viewing the weather forecast on their homepage and Internet Explorer said "This Website wants to install the following add-on: "Adobe Flash Player Installer etc etc!

Would welcome comments on this thread.

is perfectly harmless in itself, and you'll need it if you want to view the video clips on the Virgin homepage. There aren't any pop-up ads there as far as I can see.
