What program is the text?

How many bits is the picture and what format?

If you are about to e-mail it, about half an hour over a 56k modem.

A simple .jpeg or similar compressed photo and a few words of text will vary, depending on the pic, from around 150 to 500 kilobytes.

You must be trying to send the picture in non-compressed form and your recipient is probably likely to not be very pleased...:-)

Try renaming the pic file as (file name).jpeg - for example birthday.jpeg

This will compress it to a more manageable size.

Wow, wee eddie, you must have an excelent connection. How do you do it? I've found that it takes over an hour for a 15MB file, and even then it only got three quarters of the way through by one hour.

"Try renaming the pic file as (file name).jpeg - for example birthday.jpeg "

Renaming a file will NOT change it file type any more than changing a file called Word.doc to word.xls will change it to an Excel Spreadsheet.

To convert from one format to another you must use a program like Irfanview click here to do the conversion.

think of it like this. Imagine you have a French copy of "Hamlet". You can't change the words inside to German, Italian or any other language just by crossing out French on the cover and writing on Italian etc

Please explain fully what you are doing.

a photho and a about 20 words a page.just dont how many i can do , cheers. hamlett? i dont smoke

  Jester2K II 10:53 04 Sep 2003

Depends on the size (file size not image size) of the photo. 20 words a few kb.

If you have photos about 1mb then you can probably get 18 pages in 20mb.

If you have photos about 50kb then you'll get room for hundreds of pages...

  Stuartli 13:19 04 Sep 2003

Sorry to disagree with you, but I do it on a regular basis with full or medium resolution shots from a 2.1MP Minolta Dimage E203 camera which are sent by e-mail to my daughter abroad.....:-)

A 3.52MB pic is reduced to 256.31kb using this method.
