trying to watch exe folder on a mac?

Hi there, Hoping you can help? My car was recently involved in an accident in my buildings car park, our management company has sent us the cctv footage through a dropbox folder via email. It won't let us open the file assuming it is a microsoft computer they are using and we have a Mac. The file name ends in exe. I went online and found a programme called wine. and all that seems to have done is downloaded an image of the file but not the whole videos?

Ask them to send you the video file which is probably MPEG or something similar. Video files are not usually .exe

An exe file is executable, usually an app not a video file. Possibly it is a compressed file that will uncompress on opening, on a Windows PC. Try, using wine, to uncompress or extract file.
