New AC Router for mixed PC / Mac House

We have a Virgin Media Superhub 2 which has been switched to modem mode as the wireless connection is poor throughout most of the house. I have been using an older Airport Extreme and current model Airport Express so the family can use both windows pcs and iPhones /ipad.

Now with several AC wireless routers on the market, I am looking for a replacement for my ageing Apple kit. I want something fast, good system interface that has decent parental controls for device time limits for the children and ideally will work well with PS3 & 4 as well (but these could be wired if needed to be). We live in a larger 1960's house so the walls are solid, so needs to be a strong performer.

I have considered the Netgear 7000 & 7500 (but no individual device time limits for children), Asus N68u (has had problems with firmware and rebooting) and the Airport Extreme (but no QoS support or USB 3!).

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks Matt
