Mini Mac stuck on apple logo

Hi, a few days ago my mini Mac stopped working. I was using it and it was incredibly unresponsive then it went black some text came up to say it was booting and then it just hangs on the apple logo.

I have a Windows keyboard and tried control r and a couple of times it brought up the recovery screen . I tried the disk utility and the rainbow just spun for hours. Next time I tried to install catalina and the rainbow spun over night.

Any ideas as to what I can do if anything. I didn't have anyback so can I remove the hard drive to get at the info or is it lost.

I suspect the hard drive is too full. Get a 32GB, or bigger, USB drive. Do the Command + R trick, or possibly Command + Option + R to download the Mac OS and install it to the USB drive. Boot from the USB drive then download and install Omni Diskeeper. Diskeeper will then enable you to see what is on your Mac Mini internal storage.

Thank you. I created a Mac OS bootable disk on a window machine but when I plug it in it is not shown as an option to boot from

Is the disk really bootable and the correct partition for a Mac? See here click here
How did you download a copy of the Mac Os onto the Windows PC?

My original advice gives you a working copy of the Mac Os on the Usb drive.

How are you getting on getting this fixed?
