Memory compatibility Early MacBook Pro 2011

Hi... Trying to find out if this is the correct memory for an early 2011 MacBook Pro.

Corsair 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1333MHz SODIMM 16GB DDR3 1333MHz memory module

Apple state that the Early 2011 only supports 8Gb but that is I understand not true it will support 15GB. Would welcome confirmation that these are the right chips to use. i.e that they are technically equivalent to same chips in 4Gb size (apart from the capacity)

Is it a 13, 15 or 17 inch model- The 13" supports 8GB the other two 16GB

To be certain go to Crucial and run their scanner - it will tell you exactly what you can up grade to.
