Macromedia Flash player won't install

  J R Best 22:35 04 Apr 2006

I have just reinstalled windows xp on my laptop. I cannot get Flash player to install though. Everytime I go to a website that needs it, i follow the appropriate link. It informs me a gold bar or something should come down but it never appears. The flash player download page says thats its been successfully installed, even though it clearly has not.. I have tried it with both IE 6 and IE 7 beta, i'm still using the latter. In manage add-ons it doesnt appear as being installed either. I using Zone Alarm Security Suite and Windows Defender, though they are set up how i have always had them. This is rather frustrating as it limits what i can see on the web! Any help would be much appreciated.
