Macromedia Flash 4.x and 7.x uninstall procedures

Secunia PSI states these as 2 'End of Life' programmes. Downloaded the recommended 'Uninstall Flash Player' file. Advised that it has run successfully. Have rescanned with Secunia PSI. Report still says 4.x & 7.x is live. Used Registry Mechanic. Still no joy.

Control Panel Add/Remove programmes shows only Adobe Shockwave is installed. No mention of any Flash Player installations.

How can I uninstall these items, before I install Adobe Flash Player 9.x?

Hope someone can help....

Many thanks

Go to Windows\system32\macromed\flash, delete everything in the folder (you may need to use Safe mode if any of the files are reported as "in use"), reboot, install the new version.

For older versions, search for "SwFlash.ocx" , "Flash.ocx" and "flash32.exe" and delete these too, if not found in the folder I mentioned above.

Your advice was spot on. Didn't have to use Safe Mode.

Once again, the folks on this Forum have shown me the light!
