Mac Mini Power Surge Boot Errors

  mlugg 23:20 12 Dec 2015

Hi, Recently I was trying to make a USB DVD drive work and accidently plugged in my laptop charger (oops). This caused a power surge so my Mac obviously rebooted, and after we had issues. Booting the Mac, I got no chime, no video output and the HDD didn't spin up. After 5 minutes we got the no boot disk / unrecognised file system error image. This happens whenever we boot the Mac Mini. The internet says this may be a RAM error, but I have the Mac Mini with soldered-on RAM so this is not an option. I need all the info on my HDD - I have schoolwork and other vital info on it. Help pleeassseee!!
