using vista how do i find mac address

  Technotiger 20:27 15 Feb 2008

I think the answer is - you don't! Your Mac address is supplied by your ISP if/when you wish to change ISP.

Hmm, after a bit of searching, I found this ... click here so maybe you can find your Mac address!

your mac address is not to do with you pc......its to do with either a modem (internal or external) or a wireless adapter.
i think im right in saying this

  rossgolf 20:31 15 Feb 2008

or as in technotiger's post...., your ethernet adapter...but also could be wireless adapter or interal/external modem

Another way is to download/install PC Wizard 2008 (Free) then run it and then click on the Network icon (a Globe), then highlight Network and scroll down to find MAC address.

If you use a router it will be in that

Click on the Windows Button and then type in cmd in search dialogue box and press enter.

In the box that opens type ipconfig/all and press enter.

You will need to scroll up or down until you find the information you need. Look under the "Wireless LAN adaptor..." for wireless or under "Ethernet adapter Local..." for a wired connection. Under each specific connect look for the "Physical Address" and this will be your Mac address.
