fax machines- any pros and cons with thermal v bub

Sorry, not strictly a PC enquiry but looking to replace my PC attached multifunction device. Don't really need one and it's going on the paper feed blink( after 5years, tho). loking to get a CANON B160 BUBBLE JET PLAIN PAPER FAX. The Brother equiv is a thermal printer...not sure of any pros/cons. Appreciate some thoughts.

Why have a fax machine - why not just use the PC. There is an excellent printer/scanner at a very good price, the HP 1205.

You can fax directly from Word documents, or via the scanner.

For incoming faxes I use the free efax service. They allocate you a fax number, turn incoming faxes into emails, then email it to you - all for nothing!!

Sorry, didn't explain. Want a standalone for 30-odd people to wander in and use. You're right the efax etc for personal use is great. Thanks for comments
