E-machine recovery disk

Hi there I have a fairly new e-machine running XP home. Somehow a virus has got onto it and I am having real problems with IE and outlook. I have tried Norton to get rid of it but hink the best thing would be to just reset the whole machine back to the start. there is nothing on it I want to keep.

Do I just put the recovery disk in and reboot? Is it really that simple?

Put CD 1 into the Drive and restart the PC follow the on screen instructions.

When you get into windows make sure you get all the windows updates especially SP1 installed. Don't forget to Enable your Firewall connection for XP.

I think you will have 2 or 3 CD's for the restore.
Watch the on screen prompts for changin the CD over.

Thank you Blue~Note, I am new to all this and didn't want to start something and find I was worse off than before. There are two cd's so - fingers crossed and it'll be ok.
