Can not locate SSD in Disk Utility

  Jonesy8787 15:32 22 Jul 2019

Completely new to this, I have found there is an SSD I believe on this device by searching via terminal.

the device doesn't show with disk utility but does in system report

Capacity: 121.33 GB (121,332,826,112 bytes) Model: APPLE SSD SM128E
Revision: CXM09A1Q Serial Number: S0XDNYAD462520
Native Command Queuing: Yes Queue Depth: 32 Removable Media: No Detachable Drive: No BSD Name: disk1 Medium Type: Solid State TRIM Support: Yes Partition Map Type: GPT (GUID Partition Table) SMART status: Verified

I was looking to see if it was possible to install the OS on the ssd instead of the actual hard drive.

Hope I've made sense?

It looks like you have a Fusion Drive

Fusion Drive is Apple's name for its implementation of a hybrid drive. It combines a hard disk drive with a solid-state drive and presents it as a single Core Storage managed logical volume with the space of both drives combined.

The operating system automatically manages the contents of the drive so the most frequently accessed files are stored on the SSD, while infrequently used items move to or stay on the hard drive.

I have also faced this issue regarding the SSD, however, this may mean that the ssd got corrupted or otherwise there may be an error in it, the error 43, click here, this has really helped me out and solved the issue, and thus the SSD issue will also be depleted.
