Apple iTunes and the MPEG-4 format?

  Daibus 13:52 26 Sep 2006

I understand that to view podcasts (from the BBC for example)you need Apple iTunes to enable the MPEG-4 format which the videos seem to be in.

Is there any simpler way that I can proceed without having to install iTunes/QuickTime?

Got Nero Showtime?

Got RealPlayer?

Does Real Player or Nero enable the MEPG-4 format Powerless?

Podcast software such as Juice or Doppler does not list these players as able to open a video Podcast.

Appreciate your help..

They should do. Why no iTunes by the way?

In Juice and Doppler you have to choose one of three or four players.I originally ticked WMP but that was not able to play in MPEG-4 format and am not able to find any information on a codec for this format in WMP.

The only one that worked was iTunes but I just thought it is a large programme to install just to play a video file. Cannot see how the Podcast software itself (apart from iTunes) allows you to actually play the video.

Thanks again.
