Google's Nexus 7 2 tablet, despite not being announced, has gone up for pre-order at Best Buy.
The means, of course, that we know pretty much everything we need to know about the Nexus 7 2 before Google's event later today. Best Buy has the Asus-made Android 4.3 Jelly Bean tablet available starting at $229 for the 16GB model, a small increase from the previous and original Nexus 7. We estimate that the Nexus 7 2 will start at £179 in the UK compared to the current £159. Best Buy has it listed as simply the 'Nexus 7 7 inch tablet' so perhaps it will keep the same name. The 32GB is set at $269.
Best Buy states no specific release date with an estimate of 'coming soon' for store pickup. Rumour has it that the device will go on sale tomorrow.
As per previously leaked information, Best Buy's listing states the new Nexus 7 will come with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 processor, 2GB of RAM, an Adreno 320 GPU and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
The screen will remain at 7in but the resolution has been bumped up to 1200x1920 meaning a pixel density of 323ppi. The next-gen Nexus 7 will have a 1.2Mp front facing camera and an added 5Mp rear camera too.
Although Best Buy just has Wi-Fi only models listed, it is thought that a 4G LTE version will be launched at some point.
