Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 has won the PC Advisor Awards 2010 - Best Photo/Video Software award, after being selected by PC Advisor's team of experts as the best product in its category to come through the PC Advisor Test Centre over the past 12 months.

The long-admired Adobe Photoshop Elements image editor got some excellent new tricks in version 8.0. Most noticeably, its new Organizer allows you to tag and add keywords to your photos for faster retrieval and sorting. It's impressive how much of this Elements 8.0 can do itself - identifying the same person in multiple photos, for example, even if they span several years. It's also adept at recognising the best photo of someone. Adobe has further improved the instant photo-tweaking tools for fixing red-eye and adjusting focus, colour balance and sharpness. You can combine similar images to get the best of both, share photos more easily and ‘recompose' a shot. The best consumer photo editor, in other words, is now even more impressive.
