Acer has confirmed it will launch two new budget priced smartphones at MWC next week, the Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4.
Aiming to take on the king of the budget market, Motorola's Moto G, Acer has announced the Liquid Z4 smartphone which will launch at under £100 in April. Acer said the handset is designed for 'those who enjoy taking photos, browsing the internet and using social media'.
The Liquid Z4 will come with Android 4.4.2 Jelly Bean, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, a 4in screen and 4GB of internal storage. It will also offer a 'best in class' 5Mp rear camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and will come in 'Essential White' and 'Titanic Black'.
For those with a little more to spend, the mid-range Liquid E3 (below) will tip up at €199, also in April. It has a 4.7in HD IPS screen inside an 8.9mm body. It's also got a 13Mp rear camera, a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 4 GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, and integrated GPS.
Like the Z4, the E3 will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean but Acer said an update to KitKat will arrive later in the year.
Both devices feature Acer's latest Liquid UI. "The new icon and visual style provide the user with a better visual experience. Moreover, users can easily mute incoming notification. What’s best, it is so easy to change the user interface setting. Your phone always fits you." said Acer.
Features include a Float Apps menu, to toggle between apps and a Float Caller notification which lets you know who's calling without taking over the entire screen.
