If you've ever been watching TV and thought that you could pick better shows than the ones that made it to the airwaves, Amazon is giving you another shot. The company has just debuted its third pilot season, when it rolls out new Amazon Originals and lets viewers vote on which ones become full-season series.
You can watch the five latest pilots online or through the Amazon Instant Video app on iOS and assorted Amazon mobile devices as well as Roku and gaming consoles such as the PlayStation, Xbox, or Wii. Amazon started asking viewers for their input in 2013, as it looks to caputre some of the mindshare around original programming currently enjoyed by Netflix and Hulu.
Using Amazon's wonderfully pithy blurbs, here's what you've got to choose from when you cast your vote:
" Hand of God (starring Ron Perlman and Dana Delany): "A psychological drama about a morally-corrupt judge who suffers a breakdown and believes God is compelling him onto a path of vigilante justice." Translation: Now that his character has been killed off on Sons of Anarchy, Ron Perlman gets to create more havoc for your viewing pleasure.
" Hysteria (starring Mena Suvari and T.R. Knight): "An investigative thriller about a haunted young doctor who is summoned back to her hometown to investigate an epidemic that may be linked to social media--and her own tragic past." Translation: You can also investigate what's become of T.R. Knight since his Grey's Anatomy tenure.
" Really (starring Brittney Alger and Sophia Bui): "A funny, honest, behind-the-curtain look at the psychological and emotional complexities of marriage and the charged dynamics of a tight-knit group of friends grasping on to what's left of their youth." Translation: Friends, in its last season.
" Red Oaks (starring Paul Reiser and Jennifer Grey): "A coming-of-age comedy set in the 'go-go' '80s about a college student enjoying a last hurrah before summer comes to an end--and the future begins." Translation: Inspired by every coming-of-age show from the last three decades.
" The Cosmopolitans (starring Chloe Sevigny and Adam Brody): "A dramatic comedy about a group of young American expats in Paris searching for love and friendship and an ocean of distance from their past." Translation: The O.C. road trips to France.
