Packages which cost as little as £3.59 per month come with 1&1's App Center which contains 40 popular 1&1 Click & Build Applications so you can easily create a blog, shop, forum or photo gallery with the minimum of hassle.

Each app offers two types of installation: “safe mode” or “free mode”. Safe mode means 1&1 will update the apps to their latest versions for you, so you don't have to worry so much about vulnerabilities or not having the latest features.

The free mode is aimed at developers wanting to adapt their apps with self-made plug-ins, themes or code. It's easy to switch an app from ‘safe’ mode to ‘free’ mode whenever you like.

The top 5 applications (WordPress, Joomla!, Drupal, Typo3 and Magento) have a library of pre-installed themes and plugins so your site will look good (even on mobile devices), be secure and perform well.

You also get more than 100 web apps which allow you to easily include social media sharing buttons on your pages, including Facebook and Twitter. if you sign up for the Unlimited Plus package, 1&1 will give you direct App Expert Support – advice, fixes and best practices from trained Apps experts on the top 5 applications, as well as MySQL and PHP.

If your website becomes popular and generates a lot of traffic, or uses resource-hungry applications such as Magento, you don't want it to become sluggish for visitors. Fortunately, you don't need to pay for a dedicated server as  1&1 now offers shared hosting (again in the Unlimited Plus package) that guarantees 2GB of RAM for better performance.

With mobile sites more important than ever before, 1&1's new new Mobile Website Builder allows you to create a new website or simply convert an existing design into a new mobile-compatible version. This is included free with the 1&1 Unlimited and Unlimited Plus packages, but you can dd this mobile builder onto cheaper packages as well.

The new shared hosting range starts at £1.20 per month but you can find more information on 1&1's website.
