Mid-credit and post-credit scenes are pretty much a staple of superhero movies now - so much so that it's more notable when they're not included (as in Avengers: Infinity War) than when they are.

So naturally we expect the same when the credits start rolling on Shazam!, the latest DC flick, about a young boy who gains the ability to transform into a superhero thanks to the powers of a wizard (!?!).

Is there a post-credit scene in Shazam!?

We haven't seen Shazam! yet, but even so we can reveal that it looks very likely there will be at least one mid- or post-credit scene attached to the film. Don't take our word for it either: this is straight from producer Peter Safran, via an interview with Den of Geek.

“It's probably the same decision-making that one has on all of these movies,” Safran said. “Which is: what's going to be fun, what's going to be satisfying for the audience, what's going to be a nice punctuation mark at the end of the movie?

“We had a lot of options. I think we ended up with something good.”

Of course, we don't know what that scene will be. Safran said it's “complete myth" that it will feature Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as classic Shazam! villain Black Adam, but that could all be a ruse. Our money is on it somehow tying Shazam! into the wider DC universe, with a nod to Aquaman, Wonder Woman, or another DC heavyweight.
