New Zealand-owned Cloud email hosting and security company, SMX Limited, has signed a global partnership agreement with messaging software solution provider, Openwave Messaging.
As per the terms of the agreement, SMX will implement Openwave Messaging's Universal Messaging Suite solution for its customers who want to move their email servers to the Cloud.
SMX global sales vice-president, Tiaan Blaauw, said it selected Openwave Messaging as it was seeking a world-class, robust, and fully scalable email hosting capability.
"No matter how large the customer, SMX can host email servers in the Cloud, fully integrated with its email security services. This enables organisations to adopt a hybrid onsite mail solution or step into a fully redundant mail hosting platform, hosted in country under local laws and jurisdiction," he said.
Blaauw claimed that the key advantage of the SMX email hosting solution for both its customers and resellers is the ease of integration with other services as email hosting is fully integrated into the SMX Cloud Email Hosting & Security Suite.
"We will compete strongly on price, coupled with customer service. That means more generous margins for resellers and better value for end customers who -- at no price penalty -- can get a flexible range of business email services depending on their needs, with the services priced accordingly."
Blaauw added that the new enhancements face no risk of international connectivity issues, which leave customers without access to their data.
"Increasingly important -- particularly in New Zealand, Australia and Japan -- is that we deploy in the customer's own country. It means response times are much quicker. And it means customer data is not subject to foreign laws and jurisdictions because their data doesn't leave their home territory," he said.
