Apple has today released OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, the latest version of its desktop operating system. See also: Apple OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion review

The launch comes exactly when we predicted, the day after Apples July earnings call. Users of MacBooks, iMacs and Macs will be able to upgrade to Mountain Lion via the App Store for £13.99 when it becomes available today. See also: Apple Advisor.

Apple OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple said yesterday: "We’ve also just updated the entire MacBook line, will release Mountain Lion tomorrow and will be launching iOS 6 this Fall. We are also really looking forward to the amazing new products we’ve got in the pipeline."

Mountain Lion adds over 200 new features for Mac users including new applications like Messages, Notes, Reminders, Power Nap and Gatekeeper. It's worth noting that only customers currently running OS X Snow Leopard or Lion can upgrade.
