PC Tasks Optimizer is a free application which makes it easy to manage, enable and disable Windows scheduled tasks.
Launch the program and it displays a list of statements about how you use your computer.
"I do not connect any devices via Bluetooth"
"I do not use Microsoft Active Directory"
"I do not want Windows to routinely defrag my hard disk"
"I do not share my media library"
"I have disabled Windows Remote Assistance"
...and a whole lot more.
To configure your system, all you have to do is set or clear the checkbox next to each statement, then click "Optimize Tasks", and PC Tasks Optimizer will enable/ disable the relevant scheduled tasks.
Experienced users might wonder exactly what the program is doing, but PC Tasks Optimizer can help here, too. Click the arrow to the left of any statement and it expands to display the name of related tasks. You can then manually enable or disable individual tasks as required.
PLEASE NOTE: PC Tasks Optimizer will by default install adware along with its own code. To avoid this, pay close attention during setup and deselect anything you don't need.
Added French language.
Improved Feedback module.
Application files are now digitally signed.
Fixed some words typo.
PC Tasks Optimizer probably won't make any significant difference to your PC's performance, but it is a simple way to manage basic scheduled tasks. There is the possibility of problems if you choose the wrong option, though - we'd recommend creating a system restore point before you start.
