Best Samsung Galaxy S7 Cases

So you have a Galaxy S7 and want to protect it.

Whether you intend to show off its original design with a clear case, or keep it insulated in TPU armour, or just want it to look cool and stylish, we've narrowed down some of the best cases out there.

Remember most cases for the Galaxy S6 won't fit the Galaxy S7, since the S7 is fatter (7.9mm vs 6.8mm), a little shorter and narrower (142.4x69.6mm vs 143.4x70.5mm).

If you want to upgrade though, read our reviews on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

Olixar FlexiShield Samsung Galaxy S7 Case

We’re a big fan of Olixar’s FlexiShield range of non-slip gel cases. They won’t hurt your bank balance, at less than a tenner, and they won’t detract from your phone’s unique style – after all, you chose it because you liked the look of it, right?

An ultra-slim design adds little bulk to the Galaxy S7, so it’ll slip into a pocket just as easily as ever. And as you’d expect you’ll still be able to access all the important ports and connections, so you never need take off the case (and if you do, it’s soft shell makes doing so easy).

The FlexiShield for Galaxy S7 is available in Clear, Black, or Purple.

ElecShield Ultra Thin Case for Samsung Galaxy S7

The ElecShield Ultra Thin Case for Galaxy S7 is a clear plastic TPU case that you’ll barely even notice when it’s fitted to your phone. It’s just 0.6mm thick, and adds minimal weight.

Usually costing £9.99 from Amazon UK, right now you can pick up the ElecShield Ultra Thin Case for just £2.49!

The ElecShield Ultra Thin Case is not currently available in the US.

Ringke Fusion Samsung Galaxy S7 Case

Another clear plastic Galaxy S7 case comes from well known case maker Ringke with its Fusion bumper shell. It’s a bit thicker than the ElecShield, and features dust caps for your ports and connections to keep them free from grime.

For US visitors, this case is only available in Shadow Black from the Ringke Official Store on Amazon, though you can buy it in Clear and Rose Gold from third-party resellers.

VRS Design Crystal Bumper Samsung Galaxy S7 Case

We also like the VRS Design Crystal Bumper case for Galaxy S7. It’s not completely clear, but its gold edging adds a little touch of sophistication to your Samsung phone.

Plus, it has met the MIL-STD-810G military drop tests, so it should keep your phone safe (while also keeping it stylish).

Snugg Black Leather Flip Case for Samsung Galaxy S7

Sometimes the best type of phone case is a simple flip case. This stylish and slim fitting case from Snugg not only protects the phone from all angles but also allows you to prop it up for landscape viewing.

It's built with a tough plastic inner shell protecting the Galaxy S7’s metal frame, while the leather front and back protect its glass.

The case also gives you some useful extra room for carrying bank notes and up to three credit cards. Though if you do carry cards with your phone, it’s a good idea to also fit a screen protector.

iDefend Samsung Galaxy S7 Leather Case

Another flip case to catch our eye was this from iDefend. It’s cheaper than the Snugg model, currently reduced from £19.95 to £4.98, and features two – rather than three – credit card slots.

It also features tan leather on the inside, mixing things up a bit from boring black.

Obliq Slim Meta Samsung Galaxy S7 Case

Most phone cases are made from cheap plastic and are designed to protect more than to look good. But you don’t have to compromise: a metal (or at least partially metal) case might be a tad more expensive, but it looks good and offers decent protection.

We like the Obliq Slim Meta for Galaxy S7. This ultra-thin poycarbonate shell offers full-body protection, while its brushed-metal rear panel adds style. There’s a matte surface for added grip and, naturally, full access to all ports and connections.

Cover-up Woodback Samsung Galaxy S7 Case

Cover-Up sent us some examples of its WoodBack and WoodBack Explorer ranges for Galaxy S7. Both feature a stylish wooden rear, framed by a black snap-on shell. The unique pattern of wood grain means no two are exactly the same.

The Explorer features all-round protection for your S7 with flexible but grippy sides and a slightly raised lip above the screen, while the standard and more minimalistic WoodBack case has a soft-touch finish that reveals more of the phone's metal frame.

Whereas the Explorer has cutouts for all the important ports and connections, the standard WoodBack clings on without getting in their way.

There is a range of both standard WoodBack and WoodBack Explorer cases on Cover-ups's site, including the Aromatic Cedar WoodBack and Mahogany WoodBack Explorer pictured here.

You'll pay £16.95 ($22 USD) for standard WoodBack or WoodBack Explorer cases or £19.95 ($26 USD) for ones featuring a lightning bolt or treble clef design.

Peli Guardian Samsung Galaxy S7 Case

With the Galaxy S7 Samsung returns the IP68 waterproofing it removed from the Galaxy S5 for the S6, and it uses tough Gorilla Glass 4. But it’s still just glass, and this phone is not invincible.

The Peli ProGear caught our eye for its dual-layer impact-resistant protective case. It’s made from anti-slip material and is slimmer than many such rugged cases. The Peli also comes with a lifetime guarantee.

This case isn't available in the US, though if you're keen, you could find it on Amazon, from a reseller, but for a hefty $59.64 USD.

Spigen Rugged Armor Case for Samsung Galaxy S7

We love Spigen cases. Partly because we often find out about new phone features ahead of their launch through leaked Spigen case images, but mostly because they’re great.

Spigen sells two tough cases for the Galaxy S7 that caught our eye. The Rugged Armor is a flexible TPU case and the better-looking of the two, with glossy accents, carbon fibre textures and tactile buttons. While the Spigen Tough Armor...

Spigen Tough Armor Case for Samsung Galaxy S7

The Spigen Tough Armor is a hard case that’ll do an even better job of protecting the Galaxy S7. It has a shock-absorbing TPU interior and a polycarbonate exterior, plus a raised lip to protect the screen. It even has a fancy flip-out kickstand.

Carved Galaxy S7 Traveler Wood Case

A sort of combination of the previous two styles is the Traveler Wood Case by US company, Carved. The firm makes stunning designs made from wood that's thin but doesn't break.

There a loads of laser cut designs to choose from so there will no doubt be something that suits your style, from the American Flag to city skylines to world maps. Some are fairly plain while others are packed with colour.

Unlike the Cover-Up case, the Carved Traveler offers a rubber bumper case that covers all the metal frame and buttons. This means more protection, and the case itself is less likely to break.

There's also a textured grip down the sides of the rubber and, as you would expect, a cutout for the camera and flash.

Buy the Carved Traveler Wood Case for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge starting at $24.

Snakehive Wooden Wallet Case for Samsung Galaxy S7

If you're keen to merge smartphone and wallet then there are plenty of options. This one from Snakehive is one of the best we've seen, part of its Wilderness Collection.

You've got a choice between four kinds of wood, and we particularly like the red rosewood one, though there's also bamboo, walnut and cherrywood.

The wood is a great addition and the case also has two slots for cards on the inside and a handy magnetic closure to stop the cover coming open when in your hand or bag.

Snakehive makes a whole host of other styles of cases for the Samsung Galaxy S7. View them all here.
