Looking to change broadband service to find the best internet provider or simply want to know how your broadband compares to others? You're in the right place to find out, as we bring you the best broadband deals available in the UK right now and help you decide which is best for you.
Check broadband coverage in your area
Before we start, it's important to check that the broadband provider you're interested in can cover your area. You might be surprised to find that a provider that a friend who lives just a few miles away is with might not be able to provide broadband for your home.
You can find out using our tool below - simply type in your postcode and the tool will show you the best deals in your area. After you've searched, you can click on 'filter your results' to narrow down your results.
Also with the Rural Development Programme for England investing £30 million in rural broadband development, things are looking up for those previously underserved when it comes to Internet speeds. For now, here are the best deals going regardless of area.
What's the fastest broadband?
Virgin's fibre-optic broadband is very fast and reliable, available for £29 per month for 12 months. This deal includes line rental, and is actually cheaper than the option without broadband at time of writing. There's also a £20 activation fee to watch out for though.
It's by no means the cheapest option, but the 50Mbps internet speed is faster than most options offered by rival providers. It has won plenty of broadband awards for overall satisfaction, reliability and speed, so is highly recommended.
50Mbps is brilliant for most single users or couples, but if you share your home with a bigger family who tend to use the internet at once, you might want to consider opting for 100Mbps or even 200Mbps. It's £34 per month with line rental and there's the same £20 activation fee as the 50Mbps option.
If there's an online gamer or four in your household, upgrading to 200Mbps is going to give you brilliantly fast internet with absolutely no lag. It'll cost you £39 per month with line rental included. The £20 activation fee applies here too.
Even faster is the 350Mbps option, which costs £44 per month with line rental included. The £20 activation fee applies.
Plus, if you're looking for a broadband bundle that includes TV there are some more offers to incorporate TV available on Virgin's website here.
What's the cheapest broadband?
If you're not so worried about your internet's speed but are more concerned about its price, you might be interested in some of these other broadband deals.
This cheap broadband option comes from TalkTalk, which is just £18.95 per month until the end of May, including line rental for 24 months with no setup fee. TalkTalk's 38Mbps fibre is also on offer, down to just £25 per month, but both offers end on 31 May.
Sky offers great deals for new and existing customers. At the moment, if you join with Sky TV, you can get Sky Broadband Unlimited for £20 per month for 12 months, and that includes line rental. That's for 17Mbps download speeds, so much slower than even Virgin's basic package, but that is reflected by its price tag. Set up costs £19.95. You'll also get access to some extra freebies thanks to the Sky VIP loyalty scheme.
Plusnet has some good offers, including this 17Mbps offer which'll get you 18 months of broadband and line rental for £19.99 per month. There's no setup fee here.
This is a good price on 38Mbps unlimited Fibre broadband from Vodafone. It's for 18 months, with no upfront fee and includes line rental. If you're already a Vodafone customer, you can get this for an even better £21 per month.
Another good Plusnet option is this 38Mbps offer, which gets you 18 months of broadband and line rental for just £24.99 per month and no setup fee.
Another good price, this time on faster 76Mbps unlimited Fibre broadband from Vodafone. It's for 18 months, with no upfront fee and includes line rental. Existing customers can get this offer for just £26, which is a brilliant deal.
What's the best broadband for sport?
If you're interested in sport, you might like in BT's broadband packages, which include BT's Sport Pack.
If you want faster internet, there are also BT's Infinity fibre broadband packages available. The 52Mbps unlimited package with BT Sport Pack and the new BT Smart Hub router is £35.99 per month including line rental, with a £9.99 activation/postage and packaging fee.
Finally, there's a 76Mbps unlimited option with BT Sport Pack and the new Smart Hub for £45.99 per month including line rental and no upfront activation fee.
BT also offers some TV and broadband bundles starting at £25 per month, which you can view here.
