Best iPad Air 2 deals
You can, of course, buy the iPad Air 2 outright from Apple and other retailers starting at £399. However, it's also available on contract. See also: Apple iPad Air 2 first-look review.
O2 is offering the new iPad Air 2 (16 GB) for a £29 upfront cost. You'll then pay £32pm for a 3 GB tariff – that's £15pm airtime plan and £17pm device plan on O2 Refresh.
There are other tariffs available starting at just £8 per month but you'll have to pay £499 for the iPad itself and you'll only get 500MB of data. A good balance is a one-off cost of £99 and £25 per month for 1GB of data. That totals £699 across two years.
Over at EE, you can get the iPad Air 2 in 16 GB for an upfront cost for £49.99 followed by £35 per month getting you 2 GB of data. However, the more cash you can stump up to begin with, the better the deal overall.
If you can pay £549 for the iPad Air 2 then the monthly cost drops to £10 but the data remains at 2 GB. That means a total of £789 compared to £889 of the above contract.
Vodafone and Three are yet to announced pricing but will offer their own perks. Three with 4G at no extra cost and 'Feel at Home' which means no roaming fees in 16 countries. Vodafone is likely to offer free Spotify or Sky Sports subscriptions like its smartphone contracts.
Best iPad Air 2 deals
The iPad mini 3 still costs £319 like previous generations and comes with the Touch ID and gold colour options. That's not much of an upgrade so check out our iPad mini 3 first-look review before buying as you might want to go for the iPad mini 2. See: Why you shouldn't buy the iPad mini 3.
If you're convinced by the new iPad mini 3 then O2 is offering the iPad mini 3 16 GB for an upfront cost of £29 upfront, then £31pm on a 3 GB tariff (£15pm airtime plan and £16pm device plan). There are plenty of tariffs to choose from though and we think the best is an upfront cost of £89 then £23 per month for 1 GB of data.
EE's recommended plan is £49 for the iPad mini 3 itself, then £30 per month for 2 GB of data. That comes to £769 over two years which will drop to £689 if you pay £449 for the tablet and £10 per month.
Three and Vodafone haven't announced pricing for the iPad mini 3 yet but look set to offer the extras detailed above.
