Amazon Kindle Fire HD price cut

Amazon has unexpectedly dropped the price of its Kindle Fire HD tablet to £139.

This price cut represents a discount of £20 and comes only a few days after Barnes & Noble slashed the prices of its Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets. You can get it for £139 from Amazon.co.uk.

Amazon has made no statement as to why it has dropped the price bar a tweet which said: "Share the news: save £20 on the ultimate HD tablet experience: Kindle Fire HD now available from £139."

We can only assumer that its in response to the Nook HD and Nook HD+ being dropped to £99 and £149 respectively.

It seems strange that Amazon hasn't dropped the price of the Kindle Fire or the Kindle Fire 8.9.

While a £20 discount seems pretty good, the Nook tablets are even more of a bargain for those looking for a cheap tablets. And let's not forget the Google Nexus 7.
