Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5: Release date UK

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5: Price UK
The Wi-Fi-only version of the 10in Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will set you back £399 at launch. Samsung tells us to add £100 for 4G LTE connectivity. By contrast the standard Wi-Fi-only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will cost £319 at launch. Adding 4G LTE connectivity will add around £100 to the price. Expect these prices to drop quickly as time goes on - indeed, the Tab S 8.4 and Tab S 10.5 were originally supposed to cost £349 and £449 respectively.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5: Specs, new features
The UK version of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 sports an Exynos 5 Octa core processor. This is clocked at 1.9GHz for four of the cores, and 1.3GHz for the others. This epic chip is paired with 3GB RAM to take care of what should be impressive performance.
You can choose between 16GB and 32GB of onboard storage, and a microSD card allows for up to 128GB of storage expansion. The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 runs Samsung's version of Android 4.4 KitKat.
The whole tablet is built around a 10.5in display. This is a 2560x1600 (WQXGA) display, with a pretty decent pixel density of 287.51ppi. It's a Super AMOLED touchscreen display, so expect rich colour.
The Galaxy Tab 10.5 measures 247x177x7mm and weighs around 467g, according to Samsung. Battery life is taken care of with a 7,900mAh cell.
In terms of features you get all of Samsung's own apps, and the Google Mobile Services. There are GPS, GLONASS and Beidou sensors. Connectivity is taken care of with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. Opt for the 4G LTE version and you get LTE 800/900/1800/2600+850/2100, 3G 850/900/1900/2100 and 2G 850/900/1800/1900.
Finally, let's look at the multimedia options. In terms of cameras you get 8Mp rear-facing main snapper and a 2.1Mp camera up front for selfies and video calling. Video can be captured at 2560x1440 at 30 frames per second. The Galaxy Tab S can play MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, Vorbis and FLAC audio.
