SAD has released a music and video conversion package, Format Converter 360. The £49 piece of software lets you change the format of audio and video files so you can play them on a wider variety of devices and in a range of applications.
If you’ve ever been sent a music track or video clip by a friend, only to be disappointed that your PC or portable player doesn’t recognise the format, you’ll understand the point of SAD's Format Converter 360 program.
Format Converter's maker, German software company SAD, claims that any video file can be read and turned into an Mpeg1, Mpeg2 or Mpeg4 clip. Other widely-used formats that are supported include AVI and WMV (Windows Media Video). Alternatively, clips can be made into 3GP files for display and playback on a mobile phone.
Ogg Vorbis and AAC audio tracks can be copied to the ubiquitous MP3 format. DRM (digital rights management)-protected tracks sold by iTunes and Napster tracks can also be read and copied to another format.
