Canon today announced the launch of four all-In-one PIXMA multifunction (copy/scan/print/fax) printers optimised for printing documents and photo-lab quality images at home. All four printers will be available from September onwards, and range in price from £44 to £79. See also: Group test: what's the best multifunction printer?

These black PIXMA all-in-one printers are the first to include as standard Canon image software such as My Image Garden. This is a one-stop platform that combines all Canon software that is currently available into a single easy-to-use process. All printers now feature an auto power on- and off setting, which makes printing in a powered-down state fast and convenient, Canon says. Also available are what Canon calls 'advanced user-friendly features' such as face recognition, automatic suggestion and layout, making printing a simple process.

These models are also compatible with the Facebook app "Print Your Days" which sends photos straight from Facebook to your printer; the app allows the user to automatically adjust the layout and create collages with up to five photographs printed on a page, with options to be able to style photographs to add a personal creative twist, Canon says.

Also available from Canon is the ‘Park Premium’, this is a free resource for downloading and printing cards, crafts and stationary also available from the Image Garden feature. With photographs available from the national geographic and NASA, also appealing to the younger generation with crafting templates available to enable those to build their own spacecraft. Not only will this keep the children quiet but also the quiet mode feature, which allows the user to enjoy a quieter printing experience.

The PIXMA MG230 costs £44. With print, scan and copy functions, Canon says this model is perfect for first time printer buyers, students and young families, due to its claimed simple set up and operation facilities. The PIXMA MG230 features a compact footprint and requires only minimal desk space. Producing high quality documents, the PIXMA MG230 uses fine cartridges and takes XL cartridge size also offering Chromalife 100+ when used with canon paper and inks for long-lasting photos.

The PIXMA MG2250 is a competitively priced compact printer at just £49. It offers print, scan and copy functions, features a 7in segment LCD display, capable of printing 10x15cm borderless photos in approximately 44 seconds, according to Canon. The user can choose two or four pages on a single sheet of paper, reducing the total number of printed pages consequently reducing the users printing costs. The MG2250 takes Canon’s fine cartridges as well as the economical XL cartridge size. It prints at up to 4800dpi resolution and also offers the ChromaLife100 system, producing quality, and long-lasting photos.

The PIXMA MG3250 includes similar features to the MG2250, however it also features built-in Wi-Fi and a free smartphone and tablet app for printing photos and scanning, to give greater printing flexibility around the home. The mg3250 offers the user faster claimed print speeds of 9.2ipm for mono and 5.0ipm for colour images and also mobile printing and Apple Airprint support. The MG2250 also features Auto Duplex (double-sided) printing which can cut paper costs by up to 50 percent to satisfy the environmentally friendly user. It costs £69.

Finally, Canon today announced the feature-laden MG4250. Priced at £79 it comes with a 6.2cm colour TFT display for printing easily without a PC. The MG4250 also offers a broad range of connectivity options such as built-in advanced Wi-Fi and PIXMA Cloud link, which includes direct access to Picasa online albums, web templates, and Google Cloud Print. Allowing the user to print wherever they should wish within the home. Not only this but with fast print speeds of 9.9ipm for mono and 5.7ipm for colour prints, and auto duplex print allowing the user to print double sided helping to cut paper costs by up to 50 percent.
