Samsung has launched two sub-£200 compact cameras with double-digit megapixel counts. The PL50 and PL65 are set to go onsale in the UK shortly.
Samsung describes its 12Mp P65 camera as a 'must-have' model that is perfect for photography enthusiasts. A Smart Album setup makes it easier to manage a burgeoning photo album, tagging shots by predominant colour, theme and other criteria, as well as the fairly standard date stamp.
As with the IT100 camera, another 12Mp compact camera Samsung has also announced today, the PL65 comes with face-detection, self-portrait, blink-detection and a Beauty Shot mode.
A digital image stabiliser helps ensure blur-free snaps. Support for a maximum ISO of 3200 means photos can be taken where there's very little light without the need for a flash.
Available in a choice of pink, silver, dark grey and black, the Samsung PL65 will cost £179 and will be available in the UK from next month.
