NEC has launched its first LCD monitor with white LED backlighting. The NEC Multisync EA222WMe is a 22in flatscreen monitor costing £269 plus VAT.
The screen's height can be adjusted by up to 110mm and can also be tilted or swivelled, while a pivot function allows the display to be used in portrait format.. NEC says the screen draws 50 percent less energy than conventional monitors. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen brightness to match the varying lighting conditions of the room its being used in.
A dedicated Eco button allows the screen to be immediately set to energy-saving mode. The EA222WMe comes with a calculator that works out how much carbon is saved by using Eco Mode.
An integrated handle, and two speakers also feature on the display, which comes in black or white with silver frame.
The NEC Multisync EA222WMe is priced at £269 ex VAT and will be available from December.
