Nokia has launched a new version of its X3 mobile phone that combines a touchscreen with a traditional style 12-button keypad.

The X3 'Touch and Type' smartphone has a 2.4in display, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, a music player and FM radio. It alsio has a 5Mp camera with 4x digital zom and can capture VGA (640x480-pixel) resolution video footage. The 9.6mm-thick phone comes in a choice of five colours including pink, lilac and blue.

Additional features can be added by downloading Nokia Ovi services and mobile applications from the integrated Ovi online store.

The handset has dedicated keys multimedia and messaging function keys. Its 50MB internal memory can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 16GB capacity. 

"The Nokia X3 brings new consumer value with a device that combines a touch screen and a keypad at an affordable price, offering consumers the best of both worlds," said Mark Loughran, managing director, Nokia UK.

The Nokia X3 Touch and Type will be available this autumn and will cost around €125 (£103). Details of networks stocking the handset are not yet available.
