What will the Moto G5s and G5s Plus look like?

So, what should we expect from the Moto G5s and G5s Plus in terms of design? Our first glimpse at the possible design of the upcoming premium smartphone series came in the form of a leak from Evan Blass (@evleaks) on Twitter.

The notorious leaker shared an image taken from what looks like an internal Motorola presentation where the company is showcasing a range of smartphones due for release in the near future, each catering to a different audience.

The presentation slide states that the Moto G5s will feature a 5.2in display and a full metal body, again pushing the premium look of the new G5s line. Following the leak, Android Authority published press renders of the upcoming smartphone, giving us a close-up look at the premium all-metal design.

As you can see from the above image, the Moto G5s will be available in three different colours (Grey, Dark Blue and Gold) and features a design reminiscent of the standard Moto G5 on both the front and rear of the device. But what about the larger Moto G5s Plus?

Aside from the stats on the presentation that claim the upcoming Moto G5s Plus will feature a 5.5in display and a dual-camera setup, a render posted by My Smart Price gives us a good idea of what the 5.5in smartphone will look like.

Like the Moto G5s, the 5.5in G5S Plus features a design similar to that of the standard Moto G5 Plus, although with a more premium look and feel (and yes, that includes the same full metal unibody as the standard model) and a few additional extras that we come to in a little more detail below.

In terms of colour options, the Moto G5s Plus will be available in more colours than the standard G5s, boasting Gold, Grey, Silver (with a white front) and Gold (with a white front).

A new image of the Gold Moto G5s Plus has now popped up online, via @HeyAndri. Alongside the post he claims the Plus will feature a dual-camera and a 3,068mAh battery, and have a Rs 18999 to Rs 19999 price tag.

New photos of the Moto G5S Plus in the flesh has been posted online by Slashleaks. It is very much in line with the renders we see above.

What will the Moto G5s and G5s Plus feature?

The Moto G5s is expected to feature a 5.2in Full HD IPS display with a fingerprint scanner built into the capacitive Home button on the front of the smartphone, plus a single camera on the front and rear.

We know a little more about what the larger Moto G5s Plus will offer though, thanks to the same My Smart Price article mentioned above. Per the report, the Moto G5s Plus will feature a 5.5in Full HD IPS LCD display, along with a fingerprint scanner embedded within the capacitive Home button on the front of the device.

According to Evan Blass writing for VentureBeat, the G5s Plus should have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage.

However, it is the cameras that seem to be the main draw of the Moto G5s Plus. Unlike with the standard model which has a single 12Mp camera at the back, the 5.5in G5s Plus will have a dual-camera setup with dual-LED flash capable of recording at 1080p HD. One of these cameras will be colour and the other mono, but both rated at 13Mp.

The G5s Plus may have also a single camera with its own LED flash at the front.

We’ll update this article as soon as we receive information about the Moto G5s and G5s Plus, so check back soon for the latest news.
