Flatpanel monitor manufacturer Hannspree is hoping to rival Asus' Eee PC by launching its own netbook.

The Hannsnote, which is set to hit UK shelves in June, is a 10in laptop powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor and 1GB of RAM. Available with either a glossy black or white casing, the 1.2Kg laptop comes with a 160GB hard disk drive and runs Windows XP Home Edition.

It will feature a 1.3Mp webcam, two USB ports, integrated Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity and a full sized keyboard. The Hannsnote measures 260x180x34mm and will be priced around £289.

"Our new Hannsnote range is a winning combination of 'wow factor' design that will stand out from the crowd and practical portable computing," says Hannspree's Martin Kent.

"We have drawn upon our expertise in unique design and quality display manufacturing to create, what we believe, will be the new fashion accessory for the modern gadget lover that demands style."
