The Elder Scrolls Legends UK release date and beta rumours: When is The Elder Scrolls Legends being released in the UK?

So, when are we likely to see The Elder Scrolls legends appear on our screens? Sadly, Bethesda didn’t give up much in the way of a solid release date during its reveal at E3 2016, and instead only confirmed that it’d be coming out “later this year”. The game is currently going through a closed beta testing period, but in honour of the announcement at E3 2016, Bethesda is going to add more users to the private beta this week. Those interested should head over to the beta site here and sign up.

The Elder Scrolls Legends platforms: What platforms will The Elder Scrolls Legends be released on?

But which platforms will the game be available on, once it’s released “later this year”? Well, being a card-based game means that it’s not only coming to PC, but iOS and Android smartphones and tablets too. In fact, it’s designed to be a mobile game first, and a PC game second. There’s no word yet on PS4 and Xbox One support, and we don’t think it’ll be happening any time soon. However, if that (or anything else) changes, we’ll update this section so make sure you check back regularly!

The Elder Scrolls Legends gameplay rumours: What can we expect from Elder Scrolls Legends gameplay?

So, what can we expect from The Elder Scrolls Legends gameplay? The good news is that unlike with some other games announced at E3 2016, Bethesda went into some detail explaining how the game will work once it’s released later on this year. Essentially, it’s a strategy card game that features characters, creatures and more from the Elder Scrolls universe, and will feature both multiplayer and single player gameplay. It’ll also include a single-player story mode that follows the story of a Moth Priest called Kellen on a quest to escape from dark cultists, with the player unlocking new cards for their deck throughout the story.

During matches, the aim of the player is to destroy the opponent’s avatar before their own can be defeated. Simple really, right? Each player will begin with three cards, and can spend a limited number of Magicka points every turn to cast cards onto the playing field. The playing field itself is split into two lanes, and it’s worth noting that some lanes may have special effects on the battle. When casting, players have the choice between attacking enemy cards in the lanes or going for the enemy avatar itself.

The avatar can be one of the nine main races based in Tamriel, and the player will receive rewards specific to the race, complimenting the play style and unique in-game strengths. Of course, as players advance through the ranks and win battle after battle, they can edit their decks to fit their play style, and can also upgrade their cards to give them the edge in battle.
