Sphero 2.0 launches in faster and brighter form
GoSphero has announced the second-generation of its robotic ball, Sphero 2.0.
The smartphone or tablet remote controlled ball of fun is here, complete with upgrades and new accessories. Sphero 2.0 is two times faster and three times brighter (the LEDs) compared to the original.
You now get two ramps included in the box for getting some air with your Sphero 2.0. A silicone cover, wonderfully named the 'nubby cover', gives the Sphero more off-roading (and on-water) ability for an extra cost.
As usual, there are plenty of free apps available for Android and iOS with which to use the Sphero 2.0 – driving, multiplayer, augmented reality and more. Sphero told TechAdvisor that an updated driving app and a few others will be available soon.
Sphero 2.0 is available to pre-order now for £99 at GoSphero.com and a special edition with transparent sections, letting you see inside the ball, will go on sale at Apple stores. It will be released on 30 August.
